on my way to work today, i sat waiting for my bus. there is a commonly seen homeless man who walks up to me. he and i have spoken many times in the past and even exchanged hugs.
He walks up to me with a fresh black eye from a fight he was probably in last night. he has a bleeding ulcer on his nose that i havent seen before.
“you got a smoke or the better part of 80 cents? i want to buy a morning beer.”
“nope,” i tell him, “i’m sorry but i dont.” this is true.. i am strapped at the moment and have nothing to give.
“Dont be sorry man.. Kurt Cobain already sang that song and look where it got him..” He screws up his eyes and says, ” you ever wonder if it really was him that used that gun?”
i smile and ask him, “you know what color Kurt’s eyes were?”
“Blue!, one blew over there and the other over there..” he smiles as he replies.
we slap hands hard enough to sting us both and knock fists.. he goes on his way and me on mine…

yup.. i finally watched it.. suzuki rented it from the library so that gibson wouldnt get any money from us.
i gotta say it… hwat a piece of shit. the whole movie was showing the torture and pain the dude supposedly went through. then when they get to the crucifiction scene they dont even crucify him correctly.. correctly you say? yes.. there are multiple theories on how crucifiction was performed. the most common is the least feasible.. through the hands..
it has long been considered that the wrist (through the carpal tunnel) was where the nails would be inserted. this would give the victim a non organic “joint” on each side allowing for movement and further pain when movement occurs. the wooden block is nailed on so that the victim has someplace to stand and put pressure.
basically, the real torture of crucifiction was that the victim would have to breath to continue to live. in order to breath they would have to take pressure off their chest. the only way to do that is to raise their body and bring their arms more in line with the shoulders.. this would be done by “standing up” on the wooden block. the choice is to stand and breath, or relax and suffocate…
they show this in the film when they freak out after jesus dies and they start breaking knees and knocking the blocks from under the feet of the other two men….. so why crucify jesus in the hands? body weight on that would just rip a hole through his flesh and allow him to fall? why bash the legs or wooden blocks in this case? they would just have to hang them again.. even if they were tied it would be a foolish maneuver..
all in all, i am glad the movie summed itself up in the final shot.. gibson shows you jesus’s ass and after that it fades to black… fucking take that you xtians.. you got half mooned by a jesus actor..and what was with the total demonization of judaism?…. three words to sum it up…
