Light Pollution
Last night i was outside talking on the phone with Mouse. i have a tendency to let my eyes wander in these instances. I looked up into the sky and was very excited becuase i could see 4 stars in the sky..
what the fuck? excited to see four stars? i told her about them and suddenly felt very foolish. What would i have said five years ago living in Utah? Perhaps something like, hmm, where are all the stars… If i were to tell somene in a rural part of the world that i had discovered 4 stars int he sky and become excited, they possibly would have mocked me or felt bad for my loss…
Three years ago, i wanted to see stars with my girlfriend at the time. we drove outside the city (portland) and kept driving. 45 minutes later and a good distance away, we were able to view this a mind boggling number of them. but they were still fairly blotted out by the city lights nearly an hour away.
fucking lights.. i wonder what i could do to help limit the wasted light that is affecting my area…

discreetly placed 22 shots might work. but you probably would not be able to afford all the rounds you would need.

erisian
That is true, but i bet some well placed BBs would be cheaper, quieter and would stretch a lot further :)
i think it would take an army of people to take out enough lights to make a difference, and with an army, the laws would be a lot more safe of a target.
but i like the way you think..
its like we share the same cells on some level :)
