When i got off work yesterday i had nothing to do. I could have gone down to the cafe, but i have not been feeling very social lately. as i pedaled past Beulahland… and then stopped and turned around. Beer and a quiet table to read at sounded like just the ticket for starting my night right.
when i walked in, i performed my typical once over of the place to see who was there. i was accosted by Samurai Shy. She was hangin’ with some of her boyos. bullshitted for a while.
finally dragged myself into a secluded corner and pulled out my book. beer of the night was the Cream stout that was on Nitro. ordered a piece of chocolate cake to go with it.
i sat in the bar for about two hours.
the night went downhill after that, what with having to clean my… Read the rest

Suicide Bridge (Vista Bridge) has always been one of my favorite places in portland. With the exception of the high load of traffic that hurls itself across the bridge, it is a fairly perfect outlet for stress. It has a great view and a nice breeze. plenty of seats and is fun to throw things off of.
I got off work early on thursday and decided i would head up and read my book for a while. It was beautiful most of the day, intermittent fog and no rain.. this all changed when i got off work. drizzle.. and more drizzle. i would not havethe highlight of my day taken from me though. i jumped on my bike and pedaled across the river and up the hills. stopped at fred meyer for a pound of grapes as i went.
Once reaching suicide bridge, i… Read the rest

Pay what you like for album, Radiohead tells fans

By Kate Holton
LONDON (Reuters) – Radiohead, one of the world’s most influential rock bands, plans to sell its new album from its Web site as a digital download and let fans choose what they want to pay.
With music sales in decline globally for seven successive years, the industry is engaged in a debate over how best to reverse the trend.
Radiohead said its seventh studio album “In Rainbows” would be available from Radiohead.com from Oct. 10 in MP3 format, meaning it can be played on all digital devices.
