Chocolate cake and Beer
When i got off work yesterday i had nothing to do. I could have gone down to the cafe, but i have not been feeling very social lately. as i pedaled past Beulahland… and then stopped and turned around. Beer and a quiet table to read at sounded like just the ticket for starting my night right.
when i walked in, i performed my typical once over of the place to see who was there. i was accosted by Samurai Shy. She was hangin’ with some of her boyos. bullshitted for a while.
finally dragged myself into a secluded corner and pulled out my book. beer of the night was the Cream stout that was on Nitro. ordered a piece of chocolate cake to go with it.
i sat in the bar for about two hours.
the night went downhill after that, what with having to clean my apt and do dishes. but it started out awesome!
Cream Stout and Chocolate Cake… mmm.
~
on a side note, i have realized that though i take thousands of photos each year, i rarely do anything with them. as this is a shame i will be attempting to post more of them. witness as i perform step one of this multipart “rĂ©sistance de paresse” by putting up no less than 5 photogra[hs right now.. (chances are i will forget more later so i am attempting not to procrastinate right now.

Andrea lounging out on a pool table at the McMenamins BackStage. She is a pool Shark. I need to email her and see how Syria is going. She went over there to teach back in early september and i wonder how she likes it.

spray paint on the north east corner of Audio Cinema. this was back in April.

burniture store in the industrial districts.. if i remember the name i will update it here. different exclusion filters used. i took the photos because of the balloons mainly.

concious graffiti has been sprouting up all over the place for the last year. mainly it is occuring in chalk. i have been snapping shots of it when i catch it.

Samurai Shy on her old bike. chicks on motorcycles are hot. even if it is a beat up little honda :)

by far, my favorite graffiti ever. i have a straight on picture too if people want to see it, but i wanted to show where it was so i posted this one instead.
mm. toast. gimme..

i received a message today via stumble upon.
I do not know the individual, but they appear to be pretty spectacular. the desire to read their page is yet another reason to learn spanish. i should really get on that…
Mr Peterpunk is a great photographer.. i was blown away by the two photos that are attached to this post, they are fantastic and make me a little green with envy.

spain, i personally want to curse the soul of Hemmingway for making me want to go to Cuba and Spain so badly. damn you Ernest .. DAMN YOU..

Suicide Bridge (Vista Bridge) has always been one of my favorite places in portland. With the exception of the high load of traffic that hurls itself across the bridge, it is a fairly perfect outlet for stress. It has a great view and a nice breeze. plenty of seats and is fun to throw things off of.
I got off work early on thursday and decided i would head up and read my book for a while. It was beautiful most of the day, intermittent fog and no rain.. this all changed when i got off work. drizzle.. and more drizzle. i would not havethe highlight of my day taken from me though. i jumped on my bike and pedaled across the river and up the hills. stopped at fred meyer for a pound of grapes as i went.
Once reaching suicide bridge, i was drenched.i managed to find a single spot under some trees that was dry and read my book for an hour. 3/4 of my grapes were bellybound and made me smile, they had lost their firmness, so they felt extra gooshy when i bit into them. i had images in my head that were gruesome and halloweeny due to their texture.
the other 1/4 grapes flew off the bridge, hurtling at high speed down onto the cars below. this is the samething i always do when i come up here.. it is all part of the relaxation process.
took a couple photos, then made my way down to powells in order to drink coffee and chit chat with Awkward Anne, or maybe she was Awesome Anne that day.. it was hard to tell, in her defense, it usually isnt.
my photos, photography | Comments (2)Interesting weekend.
Thursday.
closed out Beulahland on thurday night with alex. too much beer and not enough pinball equaled not getting hope till late and still being drunk on friday when i woke up for work.
Friday
Playing pool and drinking a fantastic wine at uptown billiards. Suzuki, Athena, and Admiral Fubar are in close proximity as Athena decides to take a whirlwind bridge tour and hits nearly every portland bridge in a matter of an hour. very pleasant. 70’s rock accompaniment blast through the radio
Saturday
relaxation and book reading. coffee and conversation. sean picks me up and we head to a party being thrown by one of his long time buddys. matt and i talk, i remember why he and i are friends, this is nice as over the years, i had forgotten. crashed a party next door and met a woman named Jenn. she rocks a hell of a lot and is a great dancer, fun and pretty. her brother proceeds to threaten to destroy me should i make her unhappy. i hope she had as much fun as i did, i hope her brother will eventually learn that being a pompus dick is only demeaning himself further.
didnt get home till late as hell
i wish it would have snowed this weekend.
