proof about why details matter
yesterday, i was working ona a macintosh computer with a friend. we were attempting to get some system bugs worked out, and in the process, screwed up the OS really badly. luckily we had back up files.
Mac OS X is a Unix based operating system. i have no experience with Unix. time for a crash course via internet message boards. after an hour and a half, tons of new experience and a couple mistakes, we got the computer back up and running. turns out, people working with unix should remember that the file system is case sensetive. E and e are not the same thing.
i told jenn about the experience after she got off work. “i got a crash course in unix today”
“thats….. nice jason” she says
“blah blah blah…”
“thats nice…. really…” i can tell she is just putting up with me..
“yeah, it was awesome! blah blah blah”
“OOOH, the computer Unix!!” she is suddenly very animated in the conversation. “i though you were saying eunuch, like a castrated guy..”
“uhhhhhh……..”
i guess i never did mention anything about an OS in the conversation… so it makes sense :) couldnt stop laughing
Yea, if you had only said OS sooner than 5 minutes into the conversation I would have 5 minutes of my life back that wasn’t spent thinking how extremely weird you were for being so excited about becoming a subject matter expert on men with their junk removed. Although, somehow I really wasn’t that surprised. I love you, baebu.
yeah, like that would happen.. smile and nod baby.. smile and nod…
:)
if i hadn’t been reading this i would have probably slipped into potc & started daydreaming of jack & will’s conversations about determining whether or not he is a eunuch
remember when i sent you that email about you being orlando bloom’s “finger puppet”
hehe. yeah…
“Thinking” by thinking you meant something far far dirtier
Lol, Rikki does that to me when I’m trying to talk about computer stuff or things from work, it’s cute how they really do pretend that they are trying to be interested and you both know it just ain’t happening.
it is cute… and frustrating.. but cute..
in this case she was interested, we just handn’t passed that crucial defining piece of data yet :)
