01.19.09 | Permalink | 6 Commentsyesterday, i was working ona a macintosh computer with a friend. we were attempting to get some system bugs worked out, and in the process, screwed up the OS really badly. luckily we had back up files.
Mac OS X is a Unix based operating system. i have no experience with Unix. time for a crash course via internet message boards. after an hour and a half, tons of new experience and a couple mistakes, we got the computer back up and running. turns out, people working with unix should remember that the file system is case sensetive. E and e are not the same thing.
i told jenn about the experience after she got off work. “i got a crash course in unix today”

not a modern transformer, computer animated and modernized.. an old badly drawn repeated frame kick ass and take names while losing the battle whether on the side of good or bad.
then i would go drive my ass around on the moon for a while. come home and nap, then hope for a way to generate energon cubes with out having to destroy the world..
basically, nothing would be different between myself now and then except that i could drive on the moon and i would be a transforming robot…

01.12.09 | Permalink | 2 Commentsso.. i was hanging out with d.sharkey the other yesterday. played some scrabble, drank some coffee. decided at some point that we had not gone trawling through peoples network trash online in a while.
very little worth while was found.. i mean, its not like we are hackers or anything, just using advanced google techniques. we started trying different criteria and opted for the lame “secret” option to see what was out there floating about.. amazingly, we struck comedy gold pretty quickly.

using some rough translation tools, i know he is a motivational speaker, part of toastmasters, and trains AmWay folks.., i dont read russian, but i figure nikolai likes long walks int the park, sweating to the oldies, new metallica… and pollyanna???

.i cant believe they made this. A tooth brush for kids that sings two minutes of a Jonas Brothers song while it brushes. the thing is battery operated and pressure sensitive.

creamer or no creamer… soy or dairy?

i used to hate any kind of creamer in my coffee, it was black or nothing.. it didnt matter if it was gourmet or gut-rot, the only thing i would add was a little bit of salt to break down the acidity
in the last year and a half i have been a bit off though.. i rarely drink it black.. i seem to always have to add something. cat figure out why.. i can still drink it black, but i seem to enjoy it more when it is cut with something.am i turning into a java pussy cat instead of the tiger i used to be?
i still dont add sugar, so at least i havent fallen to the bottom of he pit, but half way down the hole, i can feel my fingers slipping as i become accustomed to flavored cream……….

bake at 350 for an hour and 40 minutes.. turning every 30
cook till “softish”
open and remove from skin
eat with yummy tomato sauce and parmesean cheese
shovel in mouth with fork

scrabble and other junk
- going over to New Seasons grocery store here in the next little bit. some folks are getting together a weekly game of scrabble there. should be cool. definitely one of the most bizarre places i will have ever played..
- a few people got laid off at my work yesterday.. it was unfortunate, but in the end, i still have a job.. so that is cool. my team is also intact. so i am still a manager. if it were any smaller, i am sure i would be demoted out of necessity.
- started putting together a new audio compilation. anyone interested in the old ones online should grab them soon as i will be taking them offline to save some server space.
- thats really it for now.. i have some photos at work i want to toss online as well, but will need to hold off. mainly cause i forgot
