the sound and the fury -i picked this book up at goodwill, for a buck and change. i had heard it was good, but never got around to reading it.
turns out, it is one of the best books i have ever read.
set in a combination of locals and times, varied themes and ideals are put forward depending on which section you are reading. the story is broken into 4 parts, each part is told from the perspective of a different individual, all related in some way to the Compson family.
it mainly breaks down the destruction of a family and all they know. mentally, physically, emotionally, you watch as they self destruct.
i will not go into too much detail on the actual story as the book is 80 years old. you can find fantastic plot break downs all over the web.

it was so nice outside today. Jenn and i went out to the park and played a long game of boggle. dogs spent a great deal of time out in the sunshine, which they were loving.
broke out my old sony digi-cam.. forgot how much i loved using it.. its a pain to carry around as it is a bit bulky, but may need to keep it in my bag for a couple months.

it is a damn shame my meeting didnt run longer today.. i was really looking forward to finishing my notes… i dont quite know if i was going for a robot or a demon or what, more likely robot.. but the eyes ended up too fleshy to be metal..
in the end, sitting in meetings is about the only time i ever get a chance to draw anymore.. to be honest, i definitely space out less when someone is droning on if i am scratching away at something.
bah, regardless, no time to finish..
Did anyone else in the portland area get a bizarre natural gas credit this month? We have been getting anally raped by nat/gas charges since winter time, to the point where i have been ready to scream at points. even after we stopped using heat for the year, we still had exorbitant charges against us.
so friday, i paid the gas bill during my lunch break. when i got home, i found a new bill in the mail. it detailed out a credit to my account of $150 marked as a “natural gas efficiency credit”. this combined with my payment puts me about two months over paid… very frustrating. Now keep in mind, i am not actually complaining. i don’t want to pay more, but i now have to question what this is for. Have they been over charging for months?what is the likelihood that i might have money owed… Read the rest
