sometimes i wonder if i should start actively reading the summary blurbs on books before buying them. this isnt to say that i never read the inlays, just that it is not often. i look at it much in the same way i do movie previews and dvd menus. why would i want to know what is going to happen in a story right before i read it? i want a summary or spoiler about as much as a tracheotomy.
i dont need to spend the whole book wondering when such and such will occur. i will get there in my own time. if i do read the liner, i will ofter wait a couple months before reading the actual book. this gives me the luxury of forgetting the details, leaving me only with the “i remember this sounded interesting” feeling.
i read a fair number of books each month/year,… Read the rest
