I miss the days of cassette mix-tapes. I am a firm believer that unless you put it in a concrete order and spend the time to make a cover for it, it is nothing more than a generic playlist. not the same as making a tape, but it is a creative outlet i have always and will likely always enjoy, regardless of the medium available. As such, I spend a fair amount of time each year, making compilations that i personally enjoy, and them make them available for other music lovers..
In case anyone is interested, newest compilation is available via this post. it will be online for maybe a month or so (post to be edited once i remove it)..
Just a little something to help break up the work week.
Music varies from punk to electropop.

Mr sandman,bring me a dream
preferably something that won’t make me scream
but if it does, i will likely record it
then burn it to CD so we can play it over (again)
…….. yes, i have had a song stuck in my head all day. please make it go away…
Damn you Chordettes, why does your Pat Ballard awesomeness need to repeat forever in a ting ting 1950′s loop of hellish dismay?? why did i have to like it the first 15 times it repeated in my head??
on an alternate note…
WHO WANTS TO PLAY SOME SUPER PUNCHOUT!
it isnt that i have too little to do in the office. i have more than my share in some cases. but my brain is melting.
if you look through the cone into my distracting and slightly bloodshot eye, you will see it is nothing more than a window to the pit of despair deepened by corporate back hoes and hatefully reinforced with stanchions of backwards protocols, held together by the fecal leavings of the rampant “lore Monsters”. this pit i affectionately refer to as Ummagumma.
inside ummagumma, eugene really, really should be careful with that axe… l
Down, down. Down, down. The star is screaming.

along the same subject, but with less screaming… something i ran across the other day that is worth reading all cube farmers in modern society. sourced from http://paws.kettering.edu/~jhuggins

Mentioned in a previous post, Jenn and I took a road trip recently and listened to audiobooks to break up the drive. We made it through all of th The Ethical Assassin, but halfway into the second book, we rolled into the driveway and crawled seat-sore asses into the house.
As I ride a combo of the bus and MAX light-rail to work everyday, the audio CDs stayed in the car for Jenn to listen to. I was far too lazy to put mp3s on my Creative Zen.
As a result, I bought a copy of Nature Girl. I skipped right to the middle and picked up where I left off. This was a half and half book. half audio, half text. Nature Girl was worth the time invested and the hoops jumped through to learn how it all worked out.
Carl Hiaasen’s Nature Girl is set in Florida.… Read the rest

i am not a fan of christmas, but some things make me smile regardless of my innate humbugness.
back in 1977, bowie was approached to sing a song on crosby’s 1977 christmas special. lore has it that they needed to rewrite a few of the “pa rump pa pum pum” parts due to some star-pandering by bowie. this is fine by me, i dont know why we need some outdated references to a boy offering his buttocks (rump) to jesus… just push it all to the background :)
with the rewrites, the song was also renamed from”Little Drummer Boy” to “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer boy”, which is not reflected on the video.

Today is (Monday) November 23rd 2009!
My goal since around july of this year was to get a bunch of people together at my place and drink some beer. We would kick back and laugh at the glory of FreeJack. Jenn and I contracting the swine flu killed that idea.
Why would a group of adults get together and watch this shit-fest of a movie? BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME! well, hell.. lets go through the cast to start with.. we have : Mick Fucking Jagger, Emilio Estevez, Renee Russo, Anthony Hopkins, Amanda Plummer, John Shea, Esai “I was in La Bamba” Morales, David Johansen…
In FreeJack, Mick Jagger is a Bone-Jacker, someone who steals bodies from the past to harvest their organs in the future. Emilio Estevez, is a race car driver who dies in a horrible crash/explosion in 1992. Jagger pulls Estevez through time, saving him from the… Read the rest
